Hayden’s Fight is Our Fight
Cancer can strike when you least expect it.
It doesn’t care where you live or how much money you have. It doesn’t care how old you are or how many people love you. It’s brutal and unrelenting and, despite continued strides in treatments, impacts families every single day.
Throughout her cancer journey, Hayden spent a significant portion of her life in active treatment. This meant hundreds of medical appointments, thousands of hours of chemotherapy (leaving her feeling nauseous and sick for days), and numerous in-hospital stays (often in insolation due to her immune system & lasting up to 14 days).
For her family, this meant living on one income while mom took a leave to support her care. It meant continuing to pay household bills while adding new and unplanned costs (e.g. food and parking at the hospital). It meant trying to catch a few moments of sleep on hard couches between the sounds of machines beeping with constant worry in your head.
Between the doctors searching for a cure and the kids undergoing treatment is the Hayden’s Hope Foundation.
Who We Support
Our dream is for a cure for childhood cancer in our lifetime.
But until that happens, we need to start somewhere.
As a young non-profit organization, our immediate focus is on:
Oncology families in Southwestern Ontario requiring transplant & CAR-T Cell treatment at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto
Oncology patients in Southwestern Ontario requiring adhoc financial support
Oncology patients and their families in Southwestern Ontario who require mental health supports during their oncology journey (in development)
If you are an oncology family seeking support, please visit the Apply for Support section.
PLEASE NOTE: As a non-profit organization, Hayden’s Hope Foundation is unable to issue tax receipts for gifts. Donations to HHF can be made via the PayPal platform (linked below), through e-transfer or by cash/cheque directly.
What We Do
There are three key areas of focus for Hayden’s Hope Foundation:
Supporting Kids
With the support of donors, the Hayden’s Hope Foundation will support additional expenses for oncology families undergoing treatment away from their home hospital. To learn more about what we fund and how to access it, click here.
Supporting Families
A cancer diagnosis is incredibly stressful on kids and their families. The Hayden’s Hope Foundation is working to increase access to mental health services through all phases of a cancer journey. Stay tuned for more updates soon!
Supporting the Fight
We believe a cure is possible, and we know that there are some incredible health care professionals committed to making that happen. The Hayden’s Hope Foundation will annually support research into a cure.
